FIRST ANNUAL GOVERNMENT HALL OF FAME GALA TO TAKE PLACE TOMORROW, SEPTEMBER 19, AT WASHINGTON NATIONAL CATHEDRAL
Honoring the Best in Public Service
Washington, D.C. (September 18, 2019) – This Thursday, September 19, Government Executive will host the first annual Government Hall of Fame Gala at Washington National Cathedral. The gala will celebrate two new awards programs, the Government Hall of Fame and the Theodore Roosevelt Government Leadership Awards (The Teddies). Members inducted into the inaugural class of the Government Hall of Fame will be recognized for their unparalleled lifetime dedication to a career of public service. Recipients of the Teddies are current distinguished federal officials and industry leaders who will be recognized for outstanding achievement in delivering on government’s promise to serve the American people. These annual awards will highlight noteworthy accomplishments across the federal sector, including the categories of Defenders, Pathfinders, Visionaries, Masters, Directors, and Partners. The evening will be emceed by Major Garrett, Chief Washington Correspondent for CBS News. The gala will host over 400 guests including a number of Washington VIPs such as Rep. Donna Shalala, Dwight Ink, Dr. France Córdova, Deputy Administrator Jim Morhard, Kay Coles James, and Constance Barry Newman
