MARGARET BRENNAN, MODERATOR OF CBS NEWS’ FACE THE NATION, TO HOST GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE’S FIRST ANNUAL GOVERNMENT HALL OF FAME GALA

Washington, D.C. (June 25, 2019) — Margaret Brennan, the moderator of CBS News’ Face the Nation, will host Government Executive Media Group’s inaugural The Government Hall of Fame Gala on September 19, 2019 in Washington, DC. The gala will celebrate two unique awards programs that will honor a distinguished group of leaders and innovators in public service —The Government Hall of Fame and The Theodore Roosevelt Government Leadership Awards (“The Teddies”). The Government Hall of Fame awards honor accomplished civil servants who have demonstrated sustained achievement and unparalleled dedication to public service throughout their careers. The Theodore Roosevelt Government Leadership Awards will recognize an exclusive class of federal managers, executives and industry leaders each year for their recent achievements in delivering on government’s promise to serve the American people. A selection committee comprised of luminaries in government management and public administration will select the 2019 honorees led by Tom Shoop, Editor-in-Chief, and Tim Clark, Editor-at-Large.

In addition to hosting CBS News’ Sunday morning public affairs program, Brennan is CBS’ senior foreign affairs correspondent, reporting on politics, international affairs, and global markets. She joined CBS News in 2012 and was named White House and senior foreign affairs correspondent in 2017. She has reported from across the globe on significant world news such as the Benghazi attacks, U.S. relations with Cuba, and the Iran nuclear deal. She has interviewed Hillary Clinton, former President George W. Bush, and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, among other high profile political figures.
Prior to joining CBS News, Brennan spent a decade covering the global financial markets. Brennan anchored and reported for Bloomberg Television globally. Previously, she was a correspondent at CNBC with a focus on the consumer during the financial crisis. She also contributed to various NBC News programs.
